Oakley Driving and Racing Shoes

Oakley enters the racing gear game with a bang - but, no flame. Thanks to the revolutionary new flame retardant material CarbonX®.

Oakley has combined their legendary shoe manufacturing quality and style with one of the 'coolest' new advances in racing safety.

CarbonX® yarns and fabrics will not burn when exposed to intense heat or flame, because the actual fibers will carbonize and then expand, eliminating any oxygen content within the fabric. This performance relative to heat and flame is why CarbonX® outperforms and is superior to any and all FR fibers and fabrics currently available.

Not just a name - not just different. These new Driving and Racing shoes from Oakley are simply amazing. The quality of construction to include the unbelievable grip of the soles and rugged uppers is a real testament to Oakley's overall commitment to motorsports. Available in the three color combinations shown above.

Who's wearing Oakley Driving and Racing Shoes?

Juan Pablo Montoya
Formula 1

Juan Pablo Montoya began his racing career in kart racing back in 1981. Taking the KART world by storm, Montoya quickly became a most sought after driver, with teams battling for his allegiance.

While driving for the Marko team in 1997, he came second in the Formula 3000 championship and this was the year he had his first taste of Formula One.

Accepting the role of test driver, Williams quickly signed the young man, securing his future ride in F1. He won the F3000 championship the following year while competing for Supernova, with a record points total of 65 points for the season!

Though Williams swapped Juan in the 1999 season, he quickly wanted him back. Juan remained in the CART Series for at least another season and Montoya also won the Indianapolis 500 on his very first attempt! Returning to Williams in 2001 to partner the younger Schumacher brother, Ralf, Juan Pablo saw his first Formula one victory at Monza.

In 2003, Montoya fought for the title until the US Grand Prix at Indianapolis, winning two Grand Prix in the process.
2004 will be his last season at Williams before moving to McLaren in 2005.

Juan has caused quite a stir on the track with his aggressive driving style, a style that Oakley highly approves of and is willing to partner with! Montoya drives with the most aggressive racing footwear ever available, the Oakley Race Series Boots and Shoes.

Patrick Long
Porsche Factory Pilot

Patrick Long's ascent as one of America's premier international racing drivers continues to accelerate. In 2004, Patrick is driving for the Porsche Factory. An unprecidented achievement. As a 2004 Porsche Factory Driver, Patrick placed 5th in class at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

For the 2003 season, Long lived in Germany and drove sports cars for the prestigious UPS Porsche Junior team - the first non-German driver to ever to be selected. Success with Porsche promises to vault Long further up the international racing ladder, whether it be into sports cars or open-wheel. Either way, Patrick continues the quest that began in Southern California two decades ago.

Patrick Long was born in Thousand Oaks, Calif., on July 28, 1981. He drove his first go-kart at age 6, was racing by age 8, and was winning championships by age 10. Young Patrick was the proverbial "natural," quickly blending his God-given talent with superb race craft. Over the next six years he captured national and state titles plus raced in the Belgium junior championship (he placed second). In 1997, he became the lead driver for SSC Racing of Palm Springs, where he capitalized on this powerful partnership to win the IKF Formula A title and the WKA Constructors' Cup.

At 23 years young, Patrick is a hard charger who makes all the right choices. One of the latest being the decision to use Oakley Racing Shoes.
