Bilstein was first to apply the patented gas pressure principle to controlling ride characteristics on automobiles and introduced the world's first monotube gas pressure shock absorber. Today, Bilstein continues to be the leader in monotube gas pressure shock absorber technology.

Note: Bilstein may produce shocks in either Heavy Duty or Sport version. The difference is that the Sport unit will be more aggressively valved for autocross, track events or for people who like a firmer ride quality.
