NEW!!! "$350 for a strut mount?!?" Yes, well - there are some unfortunate side-effects to owning a low production foreign car. Fortunately, there are other options. If you are not ready to replace the OE strut mounts with something a little sportier (camber plates), see if this is more your speed:
The reason Porsche changed the design in 1987 was to deal with a "vibration" problem in the front end when they changed the offset, etc. However slight it may be, it appears to be true - though, we hear it's "barely noticeable". If you're willing to take a small hit in the smooth department, try retrofitting your 87+ car with 83-86 strut mounts. We've got the kit to do it using all new parts! Completely bolt-in - new nuts and washers are optional and available to the side>> (see "Accessories").
Here's what you get:
- top washer, stop (bell) - rubber lip (for flange) - foam gasket (for flange) - flange (mounts to body) - rubber bushing w/bearing - spacer sleeve (for bearing)
