If you have installed a new starter and began experiencing "kick back", your new starter maybe sending electrical impluses to the reference sensor. This in turn causes your engine to fire at the wrong timing. This updated bracket from Porsche will solve the problem.
For the 944 owners from 82-85 you will also need to use the sleeve for this bracket (PP944.101.320.00).

Great product, fast shipping however for my 83, I had to break off the 3rd sensor mount that sits off to the side as the early cars don't have that third sensor and it just hits the bellhousing making it unable to attach the bracket. Also, I got away without using the adapter for early cars and just bolted the sensor down instead, so far no issues there.
